VISA Information

Most international participants will need to obtain either a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada. You can check the specific requirements for entry documents here. In case you are uncertain about the application process, please check the detailed instructions here.

Should you need an invitation letter for visa purposes, please contact the conference secretariat at info@cmbbe-symposium.com. Please note that the invitation letters are issued only to registered participants.

Getting There

There are several possibilities how to reach the conference venue:

Public transportation from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR): The public transportation is departing directly outside of the international terminal at YVR. It will take approximately 50 min to reach the conference venue by using public transportation. Take the Canada Line until Broadway, cross the street to the North side of Broadway and catch the Westbound 99 B-line bus to UBC. Use THIS APP to plan your trip. The tickets can be purchased from ticket machines available at the Canada Line station, where most machines accept card payments. 

Public transportation from the city centre: The UBC Campus is well connected with the Vancouver Downtown with public transportation. Take Bus No. 4 or 14 from Stop 60980 SB GRANVILLE ST NS W GEORGIA ST to Stop UBC EXCHANGE BAY or Bus No. 44 from Stop 50044 SB BURRARD ST FS W GEORGIA ST to Stop 60358 UBC EXCHANGE. The ride takes around 40 minutes and the buses leave every 15 minutes.

Taxi: Taxi services are available at the airport. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the conference venue from YVR.

Other: Lyft and Uber are also available in Vancouver

SIM card

If you are travelling from abroad to Vancouver, be aware, that you might need local SIM card to be able to make calls and access the internet.
